Overview
Design Engineer for industrial automation hardware/control systems, including PLC-based design, enclosures, electrical standards, and project lifecycle support.
What you'll do
- Design and implement complex PLC and MCC-related system requirements based on customer needs.
- Select and size PLC systems and design DOL, S/D, VFD, and soft-starter solutions.
- Develop control circuits from process and application requirements.
- Perform design calculations such as heat/load and cable sizing.
- Design enclosures (GA/layout) and integrate hardware requirements.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications and relevant electrical design standards.
- Support project delivery from design phase through commissioning and execute projects on time.
What you'll need
- Strong technical and automation knowledge across PLC systems, field instruments, and field device signal types.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and E-Plan.
- Experience in industrial automation based hardware design (e.g., Rockwell ControlLogix/CompactLogix and Siemens/Schneider mentioned).
- Working knowledge of DOL, S/D, VFDs, and soft-starters.
- Awareness of electrical design standards including NEC, NEMA, UL, IEC and hazardous location.
- Ability to understand customer process/specifications and provide design compliance.
- Education: Diploma/BE/B. Tech in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.
