Design Engineer- BMS Controls

Overview

Lead Building Management System global projects detailed engineering to country-specific standards from the India Engineering Center, executing projects independently across the lifecycle and handling first-level escalation.

What you'll do

• Review MEP drawings and identify HVAC equipment, dampers and sensors.
• Review control specifications and sequence of operations.
• Generate initial review sheets and RFIs.
• Create bill of material and select sensors, control valves, dampers, air flow stations and controllers.
• Perform control device and controller wiring, terminations and interlock wiring.
• Prepare the I/O summary.
• Prepare BMS network architecture.
• Program supervisory and DDC level controllers, prepare test plans, perform simulation and deliver commissioning packages to the field from the India Engineering Center.
• Ensure quality assurance and defect-free hardware and software package delivery.
• Adhere to all processes and guidelines to execute projects within timeline.

What you'll need

• BE/ME in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or Electronics & Communication.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems including chilled water systems, cooling towers, primary and secondary pumping systems, hot water systems, and different types of AHUs, FCUs and VAV systems.
• Strong knowledge of BMS architecture, including different types of operator workstations, supervisory controllers, DDC controllers, sensors and actuators.
• Knowledge of network protocols such as BACnet, LON, Modbus, OPC and other protocols.
• Must be proficient in wiring of starters, field devices, safety interlocks and panels.
• Experience in engineering, installing and commissioning HVAC and BMS systems for infrastructure projects such as pharmaceuticals, airports, commercial buildings and hospitals.
• Must be a quick learner with a keen eye for problem solving.
• Proficient in written and verbal communication.
• Ability to demonstrate good leadership skills.

Nice to have

• 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in the Building Automation industry, BMS design engineering or industrial automation.
• Experience in industrial automation (PLC programming/SCADA).
