Design Engineer - LV Switchgear

Overview

Design Engineer for LV Switchgear to support engineering activities under supervision, including design data collection, drawing/document preparation, and customer-spec reviews.

What you'll do

• Review customer specifications and commercial/technical documents and product requirements.
• Define preliminary scope of work for switchgear and associated components to meet customer specifications.
• Prepare bills of materials, layout drawings, single-line drawings, cable scheduling, and review documents.
• Prepare electrical drawings including general arrangement, SLD, typical wiring, and detailed drawings.
• Apply switchgear product standardization and IEC standards, including fault level calculations and switchgear ratings.
• Prepare customer-facing closeout/as-built documents and change order documents, supporting bid-to-handover execution.

What you'll need

• 6 to 10 years of experience designing low voltage switchgear (design and application of electrical power distribution/motor control center).
• Ability to analyze customer technical documentation to interpret and apply ABB product offerings.
• Experience with Electrical and 2D layout drawing tools such as EPLAN Electric P8 and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of relay protection & control schemes, schematics, and communication network diagrams.
• Full-time degree in electrical engineering from a reputed university.
• Excellent communications skills to connect with internal and external customers.
