Development Scientist I - Bangalore

Overview

Development Scientist I in Research & Development, primarily responsible for the conjugation, purification and characterization of flow cytometry assays. Reports to the Senior Scientist/Staff Scientist/Manager, Development Science, within the R&D team at the Bangalore North facility.

What you'll do

• Carry out conjugation, purification and characterization of flow cytometry assays.
• Work on various analytical techniques such as HPLC, UPLC, GPC, UV-Vis and fluorescence.
• Maintain good laboratory practices, including record notebook maintenance.

What you'll need

• M.Sc. in Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Life Science.
• Minimum 5+ years of work experience, preferably in biotechnology research and flow cytometry method development/R&D lab in CROs/APIs or academic research institutions.
• Hands-on experience with preparative or analytical chromatography (affinity, IEC, MMC, SEC) and advanced laboratory measurement systems (AKTA, HPLC, spectrophotometer, protein estimation techniques, FRET analysis).
• Core expertise in protein biochemistry, such as bio-conjugation chemistry, and exposure to tandem chemistry.
• Hands-on experience with protein purification techniques.
• Ability to lift/move or carry equipment, solvents and buffers of 10-15 litres/10-15 kg capacity.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of flow cytometry or other assay development techniques.
• Knowledge and experience in synthesis and characterization of organic dyes and photochemistry of dyes.
