Digital Solution Engineering Specalist

Overview

Deliver Advanced Process Control (APC) projects for cement customers globally as a Project Engineer within ABB’s Process Automation business in Bangalore. Develop and deliver APC scope for process industry cement projects while working with automation project engineers.

What you'll do

• Work on APC/APCA projects end-to-end for cement.
• Carry out basic and detailed engineering of APC solutions independently.
• Carry out engineering and commissioning of APC products for cement plants.
• Study process operation and process control requirements.
• Define suitable simple, complex and advanced regulatory control strategies for implementation at DCS.
• Ensure the engineering workflow is followed and projects are executed according to the Quality Management System.
• Prepare periodic reports, including weekly commissioning reports, time sheets and SAT reports, and update relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain time sheets periodically.
• Resolve customer queries on time and maintain customer relationships through a professional approach.
• Analyze processes and estimate areas where optimization is required to enhance productivity.
• Provide remote assistance to the installed base.
• Ensure site activities follow company health, safety and environmental policies.
• Take required support from the L2/L3 support line and resolve issues on time.
• Provide required inputs to the L2/L3 support line for issues raised.

What you'll need

• B.Tech/B.E. from a reputed university with First Class in Chemical Engineering.
• 2-4 years of relevant work experience in APC implementation.
• Experience in Advanced Process Control Technology and automation principles.
• Domain expertise in cement.
• Basics of control systems and OPC communication with PLC/DCS.
• Availability to travel for either short- or long-term assignments.
