Director, Clinical Data Scientist

Overview

Director-level clinical data science leader and people manager responsible for advancing clinical data science strategy, delivery excellence, submission readiness, and team capability across studies and portfolio areas.

What you'll do

• Set clinical data science direction and delivery priorities for assigned studies, assets, or portfolio areas.
• Lead and develop clinical data scientists and matrixed delivery contributors with clear priorities and high-quality execution.
• Translate complex clinical, biomarker, real-world, external, and high-dimensional data into actionable evidence for clinical development and regulatory use.
• Shape statistical, data science, advanced analytics, and AI/ML-enabled approaches suitable for regulated clinical development and submissions.
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure analysis-ready, traceable, submission-ready data and decision-ready insights across jurisdictions.
• Oversee quantitative analysis design and interpretation, model-ready data expectations, and submission-readiness documentation and traceability.

What you'll need

• PhD in relevant fields with 8+ years of relevant experience, or MS with 12+ years.
• Extensive clinical development experience in pharma/biotech/healthcare research with influence across cross-functional decisions.
• Experience contributing to regulatory submissions and health authority interactions, inspection readiness, and traceable documentation across agencies.
• People management/team leadership experience including coaching, performance input, talent development, and workload prioritization.
• Technical leadership and vendor oversight/mentorship across cross-functional delivery models.
• Expert knowledge of clinical trial design, endpoints, estimands, biomarkers, and analytics in regulatory decision-making.
