Director Engineering

Overview

Lead engineering strategy and execution for a scalable enterprise SaaS platform focused on AI, full-stack development and cloud-native architecture. The role oversees multiple engineering teams, technical decisions, delivery, quality and AI adoption across the engineering lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Lead and mentor multiple engineering teams building enterprise SaaS products.
• Define engineering strategy, technical roadmaps, architecture and development standards.
• Drive scalable, secure, reliable and cloud-native SaaS application development.
• Lead technical decisions across backend, frontend, APIs, microservices and distributed systems.
• Drive AI/GenAI adoption across development, testing, quality, productivity and automation.
• Own engineering delivery, quality, scalability and operational excellence across product areas.
• Communicate technical strategy, risks, priorities and progress to senior stakeholders.

What you'll need

• 15+ years of software or product engineering experience.
• Experience in engineering leadership roles and leading large or multi-team organizations.
• Enterprise SaaS product development experience.
• Strong Java, Spring Boot or comparable enterprise backend technology experience.
• Understanding of microservices, APIs, distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Experience adopting or implementing AI/GenAI in software engineering or enterprise products.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLMs, generative AI, AI agents or AI-powered developer tools.
• Experience integrating AI into enterprise SaaS products.
• Experience with workflow automation, orchestration or enterprise automation platforms.
• Experience managing geographically distributed engineering teams.
