Electro-Magnetic Design Engineer, Senior

Overview

Senior Electro-Magnetic Design Engineer position in Qualcomm India’s RF Electro-Magnetic (EM) Design Team. Focus is on designing and simulating RF passive components for RFICs, including EM modeling, circuit modeling, and compact model delivery.

What you'll do

• Design and develop RF passive components for next-generation highly integrated RF integrated circuits.
• Optimize component sizes and performance in collaboration with the circuit design team for on-chip RF circuit blocks.
• Deliver components including compact models and DRC-clean physical designs.
• Execute isolation analysis and optimization to reduce on-chip and chip-to-package coupling.
• Optimize multichip carriers for RF systems focusing on loss and isolation.
• Participate in RF package, module, and PCB modeling to optimize overall system performance.

What you'll need

• Experience designing and simulating RF passive components such as inductors, transformers, MOM/MIM capacitors, and passive filters.
• Demonstrated EM simulation experience using MoM EM solvers and HFSS.
• Circuit design and layout experience using Cadence tools and Agilent ADS.
• Compact model RLCK model extraction for multiport passive components.
• Ability to use EM tools to predict circuit-level electric and magnetic coupling.
• Basic understanding of chip fabrication process and electromagnetic/microwave theory for design.
