Engineer 1, Electrical, Customer Order Engineering - Electrical

Overview

As an Engineer 1, Electrical Customer Order Engineering - Electrical within the Energy Management and Electrical Plant Integration CoE organization, you will perform electrical engineering activities for challenging projects including LNG plants, combined-cycle power plants, hybrid power plants, process or turbomachinery modular solutions, and carbon-capture plants. The role starts with supervision from expert engineers and grows in responsibility over time.

What you'll do

• Perform electrical design activities to size and specify key electrical equipment at plant level, starting with LV equipment such as MCCs, DC panels and batteries, and local electrical room design.
• Grow into design activities involving MV/HV equipment such as switchgears and substations, large e-houses and electrical protection systems.
• Perform or coordinate power system studies to ensure satisfactory electrical network behavior.
• Validate main equipment sizing through load flow and short-circuit analyses.
• Grow into transient stability studies, harmonics analyses, protection coordination and arc-flash studies.
• Issue technical purchase specifications for key electrical items.
• Coordinate vendors technically and follow up on design drawings.
• Provide support to other project disciplines and project management.
• Participate in meetings with Customers and Suppliers as per project needs.

What you'll need

• Have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Should have 2-4 years of experience in electrical design for industrial applications.
• Have the ability to work with multi-disciplined cross-functional teams in a global matrix environment.
• Show excellent problem-solving, process improvement and analytical skills.
• Should have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Be curious, open-minded and have a growth and innovation-oriented approach.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of power system studies, preferably knowledge of ETAP software.
• First work experience in industrial/power plant electrical design.
• Knowledge of renewable energy applications such as solar PV and wind, as well as battery energy storage.
