Power Systems Planning Engineer

Overview

Perform power system planning studies and engineering design support for data centers, renewable generation, BESS interconnections, collector stations, microgrids, and utility systems.

What you'll do

• Perform load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, grounding, arc-flash, harmonics, TOV, and insulation coordination studies.
• Develop and maintain power system models using ETAP, SKM, CYME, Synergi, and WindMil.
• Support EPC engineering design studies for data centers, renewable and BESS interconnections, collector stations, and microgrids.
• Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and mitigation solutions from study results.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Support client technical discussions.

What you'll need

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience, or an M.S. with 2+ years.
• Strong experience with ETAP, SKM, CYME, Synergi, WindMil, and power system analysis.
• Experience with load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc-flash studies.
• Knowledge of IEEE, NFPA, NESC, and utility standards.
• Strong analytical, technical writing, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with data centers, renewable or collector systems, BESS, or microgrids.
• Distribution planning experience using CYME, Synergi Electric, WindMil, or similar tools.
• Experience with PSCAD, ASPEN, PSS®E, DigSilent, or Easypower.
