Engineer

Overview

Engineer (Technical specialist - Data Engineer L3) responsible for designing, developing, and delivering significant components of data engineering solutions.

What you'll do

• Participate in design and development of new features and application enhancements.
• Develop and review source code, including infrastructure and application configurations.
• Lead Level 3 support for Hadoop/Spark/data workflows and related infrastructure and security.
• Debug, fix, and support L2 during production incidents, including root-cause analysis.
• Write and conduct unit testing and verify code via 4-eyes principle reviews.
• Ensure architectural changes are implemented and integrate components per strategy.

What you'll need

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent), with a minor in Finance, Mathematics or Engineering.
• Strong analytical skills and clear communication skills, with fluency in English (written/verbal).
• Ability to design and write code aligned to business requirements.
• Knowledge of data modelling and data analysis; relevant IT delivery and architecture knowledge.
• Relevant financial services experience and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
• Very good knowledge of Java/Scala, Spark, Hadoop Hive, and workflow orchestrators like Airflow/Control-M/Composer.
• Knowledge of cloud offerings (GCP preferred) and cloud service models (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS).
