Overview
Support design and manufacturing sites with product, part, drawing and other design-related processes as an Engineer, Component Engineering.
What you'll do
- Support different design and manufacturing sites for product, part, drawing and other design-related processes.
- Maintain business-related documents, including datasheets, functional processes, policies, engineering drawings, engineering changes, project reports, specifications, product proposals and product/part documentation.
- Enter and maintain component data, manufacturer information and approved vendor lists in the global component database.
- Create a component database for electrical/electronic and indirect materials.
- Review the quality of component parameter attributes from datasheets.
- Validate manufacturer part numbers and provide alternates.
- Monitor component end-of-life and manage component obsolescence.
- Participate in a cross-functional team implementing product component changes within the company.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in EEE, ECE, Mechanical, or E&TC.
- 4 to 8 years’ experience in the Automotive Industry, EMS, or Electronics Products Manufacturing Industry.
- Good organization and technical communication skills to effectively monitor and convey component end-of-life notifications and part change notifications to Purchasing and Engineering.
- Familiarity with circuit design principles and board layout guidelines.
- Ability to identify alternate parts and manufacturers.
- Knowledge of electronic components.
- Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
- Ability to plan and prioritize activities.
- Knowledge of MS Office.
- Good analytical and logical reasoning.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility for all shifts.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of any design software such as OrCAD, CIS or Allegro is desirable.
