Engineer - Control & Protection

Overview

Engineer – Control & Protection for GE Vernova Grid Solutions, working on secondary engineering for EHV/HV substations and coordinating protection relay and substation automation design activities.

What you'll do

• Design and prepare engineering drawings (SLD/KLD/PSLD/CRP) using an E-CAD tool.
• Design and review substation automation systems based on IEC 61850 and interconnections.
• Review BOQ/network drawings for PLCC/FOTE engineering and interface requirements between CRP & SAS with telecom equipment.
• Review major substation equipment drawings (AIS/GIS) including protection-related and conditional monitoring devices.
• Perform CT/VT and their sizing calculations.
• Design and review protection relay application/setting calculations and coordination including tripping analysis.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in electrical engineering (or related field) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 2+ years experience with a degree, or 4+ years with a diploma in EHV/HV AIS & GIS substation design.
• Experience in EPC environments with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience/knowledge on secondary engineering up to 765kV/400kV/220kV AIS/GIS and HVDC substations.
• Protection relay and control/protection scheme testing and SAS commissioning experience (minimum 1 year) is given additional weightage.
• Experience with specialized tools such as CANECO, ETAP, and/or DIG SILENT (or equivalent) is required.
