Overview

Engineer – Controls Engineering to configure and integrate HVDC control systems and substation automation components using IEC 61850.

What you'll do

• Configure IEC 61850 IEDs using vendor-specific tools and system configuration tools.
• Generate SCL files for system integration.
• Design, configure, and test HVDC Control System hardware deliverables within time and budget.
• Test and debug complex IEC 61850 communication systems using tools like IEDSCout and Wireshark.
• Coordinate HVDC control integration with equipment and SCADA systems by defining IO lists and analyzing signal interfaces.
• Design LAN networks/communication architectures and configure industrial Ethernet switches/routers.
• Support installation/commissioning activities and assist in FAT witnessing.

What you'll need

• Degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering or a related field.
• Strong background in configuring substation bay controllers/merging units/IEC 61850 IEDs.
• Experience in control panel design (preferably substation/power plant environments).
• Background in Distributed Control Systems / Substation Automation.
• Working knowledge of engineering tools such as AutoCAD, e-base, and Microsoft Visio.
• Understanding of industrial communication networks such as Profibus and Ethernet-based protocols.
• Knowledge of fiber optic cabling systems and LV cable sizing/distribution.
