Highway Design Engineer to lead highway design and development for complex projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
What you'll do
- Develop and oversee highway design plans including alignment, grading, drainage, and traffic control.
- Create detailed 3D models and construction drawings using highway design software.
- Analyze traffic patterns, environmental impacts, and safety considerations to optimize designs.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including environmental, geotechnical, and construction stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national highway design standards and regulations.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver designs on schedule.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (required).
- 7–9 years of experience in highway design and engineering.
- Advanced proficiency in highway design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation.
- Strong knowledge of traffic analysis software and techniques.
- In-depth understanding of highway design principles, construction methods, and materials.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Relevant certifications in highway design or transportation engineering.
