Engineer I

Overview

Engineer I role focused on designing and delivering traffic signals and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) for highways and infrastructure projects.

What you'll do

• Design and develop traffic signalized intersections.
• Design and develop ITS solutions including VMS, CCTV, MIDAS, HAWIS, HADECS, vehicle detection, ERT, and power & communication networks.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate ITS designs into broader transport and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations for ITS design and implementation.
• Prepare detailed design documentation, specifications, and drawings for traffic signal and ITS projects.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to support project delivery.

What you'll need

• 5–10 years of experience in Electrical/Electronics, Traffic Signals, and/or Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) for highways/infrastructure projects.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, and/or Communications Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional membership with a recognized institution (e.g., IET or equivalent).
• Experience working on international projects, particularly in the UK, US, Canada, or the Middle East.
• Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Navisworks, LinSig, and Amtech/Trimble Pro for electrical calculations.
• Good command of Microsoft Office package.
• Demonstrate ability to deliver within set time frames and work independently/manage small/medium projects.
