Overview
Join the Water Infrastructure team as a Mechanical Engineer designing mechanical equipment and systems that support water and wastewater treatment and distribution infrastructure.
What you'll do
- Own and direct teams undertaking technical design work in line with relevant design standards and codes and to high-quality levels.
- Define briefs and scopes of work and lead bid proposals.
- Manage time and budgets against key project milestones and programmes.
- Work with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
- Set quality assurance standards in design.
- Grow, develop and manage electrical engineering capability within the practice.
- Work with and develop digital design tools such as unit process sizing and other automated design tools.
- Write technical reports at all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Communicate with clients within the UK, Middle East, Hong Kong, USA, Canada and other locations.
- Meet and exceed quality, programme, budgetary and H&S requirements on projects.
- Contribute new innovative ideas and make suggestions for innovation.
- Present project work at company meetings or conferences.
- Coordinate with the wider team on multidisciplinary projects.
What you'll need
- 5 to 7 years of experience.
- B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience owning design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
- US, UK and Middle East water industry experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical equipment such as pumps, blowers, screens and chemical dosing plant.
- Deep understanding of current UK and US design standards and working practices.
- Understanding of WIMES, British, European and American Standards and other statutory, regulatory and non-regulatory provisions and guidance.
- Proven strength as a technical leader in multidisciplinary delivery.
