Engineer II – Design Engineering

Overview

Engineer II – Design Engineering in RTX’s Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) / ESTO Design team, providing production and field support for Geared Turbo Fan and Operational Commercial engines.

What you'll do

• Evaluate and disposition non-conformances in compression system engineering.
• Conduct technical assessments to confirm hardware meets functional and design intent.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analyses for fit and functional performance.
• Provide technical rationale, safety justification, and compliance evidence.
• Develop repair schemes to restore design intent with stakeholders.
• Develop innovative design solutions aligned with program schedule milestones.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).

What you'll need

• Master’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 2+ years’ relevant experience.
• Alternatively, Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 4+ years’ relevant experience.
• Ability to use solid modeling and analysis tools proficiently.
• Experience using standard work, RCCA, and other tools to improve design processes.
• High proficiency desired in Unigraphics, MS Office, Teamcenter, and SAP.
• Knowledge of ASME standards such as ASME Y14.5–2018 and ASME Y14.41–2019.

Nice to have

• Experience designing fan blades, compressor blades/vanes, discs, and casings.
• Experience in gas turbine fields, especially engine compression systems.
• Siemens tools experience (NX, Teamcenter, GD&T on CAD models) and analysis with ANSYS APDL and Workbench.
• Automated design optimization skills.
• Green/Black Belt six sigma certification.
