Engineering Manager, Financial Services

Overview

Engineering Manager for Tide’s Financial Services business, leading a cross-functional full-stack engineering team and owning global In-Person Acquiring products.

What you'll do

• Lead a cross-functional engineering team across Backend, Mobile, and Web.
• Partner with Product Management to own and lead global In-Person Acquiring products.
• Own technical direction and end-to-end execution for systems powering in-house ePOS, Tap to Pay, mobile apps, and pricing engines.
• Oversee maintenance of reliable live products.
• Lead architectural strategy for third-party vendor integrations and hardware partnerships.
• Drive platform transformation and engineering scaling of localized payment networks (e.g., QR/UPI) across international markets.

What you'll need

• Proven experience directly managing, coaching, and developing cross-functional teams of Backend, Mobile, and Web engineers.
• Platform- and tech stack-agnostic leadership with expertise in at least one core domain (backend or mobile).
• Experience building robust applications, server-side engineering, mobile app deployment architecture, and scalable system design.
• Experience in FinTech, specifically Acquiring, In-Person Payments, ePOS systems, or payment gateway integrations (highly desirable).
• Experience with cloud-native scalable reliable solutions, microservices, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems.
• Proven experience designing systems integrating third-party vendors, hardware providers, and external payment networks.
