Engineering Manager, Financial Services

Overview

Engineering Manager for Tide’s Financial Services, leading a cross-functional full-stack engineering team and owning In-Person Acquiring product execution and technical direction.

What you'll do

• Lead a cross-functional engineering team of Backend, Mobile, and Web engineers.
• Partner with Product Management to own and lead global In-Person Acquiring products.
• Own technical direction and end-to-end execution for systems powering in-house ePOS and Tap to Pay.
• Oversee maintenance of reliable live products and set architectural strategy for third-party vendor integrations and hardware partnerships.
• Drive platform transformation and engineering scaling of localized payment networks (e.g., QR/UPI) across international markets.
• Lead engineering rollout toolkits for European expansion.

What you'll need

• Proven track record managing, coaching, and developing cross-functional teams.
• Platform- and tech stack-agnostic leadership with expertise in at least one core domain/platform.
• Experience building robust applications, server-side engineering, mobile app deployment architecture, and scalable system design.
• Experience in FinTech, specifically Acquiring, In-Person Payments, ePOS systems, or payment gateway integrations (highly desirable).
• Experience engineering scalable, reliable cloud-native solutions including microservices and RESTful APIs/event-driven systems.
• Proven experience integrating systems with third-party vendors, hardware providers, and external payment networks.
• Hands-on technical leadership across the full lifecycle: development/testing through production deployment and monitoring.
