Senior Engineering Manager (L5)

Overview

Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering for Twilio Segment’s Data platform/pipelines. You’ll build and scale high-scale ingestion and data processing systems and lead distributed systems delivery.

What you'll do

• Own and deliver robust, high-scale routing experiences for Data platforms & pipelines (Twilio Segment).
• Lead team growth and success through mentorship and individual development.
• Architect and operate always-available complex distributed systems in cloud environments.
• Guide technical decisions by balancing cost, performance, and reliability trade-offs.
• Drive agile processes, continuous integration, and robust automation.
• Translate technical strategies into actionable plans for Product Managers and Architects.

What you'll need

• 14+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ year proven track record managing software teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering/related field.
• Proven experience managing multiple workstreams within the team.
• Technical depth in distributed systems, high-scale ingestion, and cloud-native architecture.
• Hands-on experience with high-scale messaging/streaming systems and processing engines (several thousand events/sec).

Details

• Role is remote and based in India, limited to Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Maharashtra, or Delhi.
• Occasional travel may be required for in-person meetings.
