Overview
Onsite Engineering Planner responsible for planning, scoping, and delivering detailed work packages for routine maintenance and planned outages across multiple engineering disciplines.
What you'll do
- Attend the job face to gather first-hand information and develop job scopes across electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, and civil disciplines.
- Prepare detailed work packages with task sequences, resource plans, materials, drawings, isolation plans, risk assessments, and permit requirements.
- Build and maintain a master plan for routine maintenance using a 3-month rolling schedule and planned outages with critical path tracking.
- Coordinate with Asset Engineers, Operations, Project teams, and Contractors to integrate maintenance through to execution.
- Manage CMMS data in SAP, including work orders, task lists, equipment histories, and resource requirements.
- Lead weekly scheduling meetings and report on schedule adherence, critical paths, and resource utilisation.
- Liaise with stores and procurement to ensure parts, consumables, and specialist tools are available ahead of scheduled work.
- Review job plans after execution to drive continuous improvement in planning quality and support reliability programmes.
What you'll need
- At least 5 years’ experience in maintenance planning or engineering within specified industries.
- Proven experience planning across at least two disciplines: electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, or civil engineering.
- Demonstrated experience in shutdown, turnaround, or outage planning, including detailed job lists and execution schedules.
- Proficiency in CMMS systems, specifically SAP Plant Maintenance, including work order management and equipment history/task list maintenance.
- Working knowledge of scheduling methodologies and tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or Prometheus.
- Familiarity with engineering documentation including P&IDs, equipment drawings, and specifications.
- Knowledge of permit-to-work systems, risk assessment processes, and site safety procedures.
