Enterprise Sales Engineer

Overview

Enterprise Sales Engineer partnering with Sales to lead technical evaluations, run demos, and guide customers from discovery to adoption.

What you'll do

• Own the sales process in partnership with Account Executives by leading technical strategy across opportunities
• Lead customer discovery to uncover technical challenges, business goals, and success criteria
• Deliver product demos, technical presentations, and workshops tied to customer outcomes
• Project manage technical evaluations (POVs) end-to-end including scoping, success criteria, timelines, and participant accountability
• Identify and cultivate technical champions in customer accounts to support Datadog adoption
• Maintain accurate documentation of activity, deal progress, and customer interactions in related systems
• Collaborate with Product, Support, and GTM teams to resolve technical blockers

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or a technical customer-facing role in an enterprise environment
• Ability to navigate multi-stakeholder environments and adapt communication for technical, business, and executive audiences
• Proficiency with public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, APM/tracing, security, developer experience, and observability
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to different audiences
• Consultative problem-solving and customer engagement approach
• Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to travel as needed for customer engagements
