EPC Substation Engineer

Overview

Substation Engineer (EPC) responsible for substation physical/electrical design and protection & control engineering for HV/EHV projects, creating drawings and deliverables and supporting project execution.

What you'll do

• Perform substation physical electrical design (general arrangement, electrical plans/sections, grounding, raceway, shielding, lighting) for HV and EHV.
• Perform protection and control engineering design (relaying one-lines, AC/DC schematics, metering, SCADA, station communications/automation/security) for HV and EHV.
• Read and design substation physical drawings including operation one-lines, electrical plans/sections, foundation layouts, grounding layouts, and conduit layouts.
• Prepare project deliverables such as engineered drawings, technical reports, and project documentation.
• Perform quality control reviews where applicable.
• Assist with proposals, provide drawing counts and manhour estimates, and maintain records/files.

What you'll need

• B.S. degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited university (Electrical preferred).
• 4+ years of prior relevant substation engineering experience.
• Familiarity with electric infrastructure and theories/principles in substation engineering.
• Experience with engineering programs/software including SKM, ASPEN, ETAP, CDEGS, or vendor software.
• Competency applying basic theories and principles involved in substation engineering.
• Experience with EPC turnkey projects for electric utilities (strongly preferred, per posting).

• Pay range stated: $87,100.00 - $157,450.00.
