Expert Instructional Designer

Overview

Expert-level instructional design role that shapes and delivers Sanofi's learning strategy by creating training content, courses and materials that close skills gaps and support employee growth.

What you'll do

• Lead large-scale instructional design projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and learning objectives.
• Develop and implement comprehensive instructional strategies and curricula that meet the needs of diverse learner groups.
• Oversee multiple instructional design projects, managing timelines, resources and stakeholder expectations.
• Drive innovation in instructional design by incorporating the latest trends, technologies and methodologies.
• Mentor and guide junior and senior instructional designers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Apply strategic thinking and decision-making to drive the instructional design strategy.
• Develop engaging learning experiences using authoring, animation and graphic design tools.
• Partner closely with business and L&D stakeholders to translate complex business and learning needs into effective learning experiences.

What you'll need

• 7–10 years of hands-on experience in instructional design, with a proven track record of leading large-scale projects and initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering end-to-end learning solutions aligned to business needs and skills strategy.
• Proven ability to conduct needs analysis and translate business requirements into effective instructional interventions.
• Demonstrated experience providing learning design consultation to business stakeholders and operational managers.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally across diverse teams and geographies.
• Strong understanding of instructional design principles, learning program development lifecycles and L&D strategy.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and consultative communication skills.
• Ability to influence without authority across functions and seniority levels.
• Proficiency in project management tools.
• Innovative learning mindset with the ability to leverage the latest learning standards and technologies.
• Familiarity with learning platforms and tools (e.g., iLearn, EdCast).

Nice to have

• Background in instructional design or learning strategy at an expert/senior level.
• Experience in the Pharma or Life Sciences industry.
• Certification or Diploma in instructional design (e.g., ATD, CPTD) or project management (e.g., PMP).
