Overview
Lead the continuous, safe, and compliant operation of all fab facilities and critical utilities supporting semiconductor manufacturing across Operation, Maintenance, Engineering and Hook Up, in a 24x7 environment.
What you'll do
- Lead operations of bulk and specialty gas systems, chemical distribution systems, UPW, process cooling water, wastewater treatment, electrical systems, building infrastructure HVAC, and cleanroom environmental systems.
- Ensure continuous availability of all utilities required for manufacturing with minimal production impact.
- Ensure on-time hook up of production tools.
- Own facility incident response and serve as first responder for site-wide facilities and hook up events.
- Maintain cleanroom temperature, humidity, pressure, and contamination control within fab-defined limits.
- Coordinate filter maintenance, airflow verification, and critical environmental alarms to protect yield-sensitive operations.
- Support particulate, AMC (Airborne Molecular Contamination), and vibration control programs aligned with fab standards.
- Ensure full compliance with EHSS, hazardous gas, chemical safety, wastewater discharge, and environmental regulations concerning semiconductor manufacturing.
- Maintain 100% EHSS training certification for all facilities staff and contractors.
- Lead corrective and preventive actions following incidents, audits, or near-miss events.
- Lead, mentor, and develop facilities technicians, engineers, and supervisors in a shift-based 24x7 operation.
- Drive standardization of operating procedures, maintenance practices, and commissioning processes.
- Implement succession planning and skill-depth development for critical systems ownership.
- Establish and govern preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all fab utilities and infrastructure.
- Leverage artificial intelligence to track and drive KPIs such as uptime, MTBF, response time, safety metrics, and PM compliance.
- Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) for utility-related excursions impacting production.
- Lead commissioning of new fab utilities, equipment, and facility expansions supporting ramp-up or technology node changes.
- Partner with construction, operational, and equipment groups to integrate facilities systems with minimal disruption.
- Own facilities budget, forecasting, and cost-optimization initiatives.
- Handle strategic vendors providing gas, chemical, UPW, waste, and maintenance services.
- Ensure contract compliance and SLA alignment for critically important services.
- Represent the site during customer audits, ISO, EHSS, and certification reviews.
- Act as the site's voice in global facilities forums to align with corporate standards.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical) or equivalent.
- 12-15+ years of experience in semiconductor fab facilities or similar high-reliability industrial environments.
- Proven understanding of gases, chemicals, UPW, wastewater systems, electrical systems, HVAC, and cleanroom facilities.
Nice to have
- Exposure to BMS / FMS / CMMS / SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of local and international EHSS standards applicable to semiconductor fabs.
