Field Engineer

Overview

Field Engineer to ensure day-to-day technical health of robotic workcells used for ongoing data acquisition operations in a live environment.

What you'll do

• Own day-to-day technical health of a fleet of robotic workcells in daily operation.
• Diagnose and resolve failures across mechanics, electronics, controls, and software interfaces.
• Partner with technicians and operators to improve scalable fleet support processes.
• Build lightweight monitoring, diagnostics, recovery, and handoff tools.
• Create documentation, SOPs, and diagnostic playbooks for repeatable floor practice.
• Manage and respond to inbound tickets with clear ownership and escalation paths.
• Write scripts to identify fleet trends, recurring failures, and reliability improvements.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience supporting electromechanical, robotic, automation, or human-in-the-loop systems in production, R&D, lab, field, or operational environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot messy real-world failures under time pressure.
• Comfort working across mechanical, electrical, controls, and software boundaries.
• Strong organization habits around tickets, documentation, shift-to-shift communication, and follow-through.
• Clear communication with operators, technicians, shift managers, and engineers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
