Field Service Engineer 3

Overview

Field Service Engineer 3 provides on-site customer support for Lam’s complex semiconductor equipment, covering installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.

What you'll do

• Deliver on-site repair and maintenance service for electro-mechanical and electronic systems.
• Perform complete installation and relocation start-up services at customer sites.
• Troubleshoot by diagnostics and isolate issues down to component level.
• Conduct diagnostics and take corrective actions to minimize downtime and interruptions.
• Assist with complex field modifications and updates and maintain records and reports.
• Provide technical instruction and mentoring for more junior engineers.
• Discuss opportunities and challenges with customers and create customer response action plans.

What you'll need

• Diploma/Bachelor’s in Electronics, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience (or Master’s with 3+ years, or equivalent).
• Experience installing, maintaining, repairing, or troubleshooting semiconductor capital equipment.
• Proficiency reading electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals.
• Ability to work in a clean room environment with required personal protective safety equipment.
• Ability to frequently perform physical job tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to travel frequently domestically and internationally and work flexible shifts including overtime and on-call if needed.

Nice to have

• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Foundational analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Location: Bangalore, India.
• Work location model: hybrid roles including On-site Flex (3+ days/week on-site) and Virtual Flex (1–2 days/week on-site).
