Field Service Engineer

Overview

Field Service Engineer to execute onsite service for ABB System 800xA with low to medium complexity, following ABB processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines.

What you'll do

• Execute onsite preventive and breakdown maintenance for ABB System 800xA.
• Plan and deliver first-time right service work in coordination with customers.
• Fix hardware/software faults, resolve issues quickly, and improve system reliability.
• Maintain customer-facing service expectations and support system upkeep with upgrades and optimizations.
• Prepare and maintain maintenance checklists, activity lists, SOPs, and backup/recovery procedures.
• Detect potential failures, diagnose root causes, document learnings, and share best practices.
• Ensure high HSE standards and adhere to safety procedures at customer sites.

What you'll need

• Diploma or B.E/B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering (or similar field).
• 4–7 years of industrial automation (DCS) experience with field service/commissioning in relevant industries.
• Minimum 4 years programming, testing, and commissioning experience in ABB System 800xA.
• Advantage: knowledge of AC500, Advant AC450, or MOD300.
• Experience with communication interfaces such as Profibus, Modbus, OPC, IEC61850.
• Resident engineer position based at customer location.
