Field Service Engineer

Overview

Deliver high-quality field service work across low to medium complexity projects, following ABB processes, quality standards and safety guidelines, with a strong first-time-right focus. Reports to the Service Operations Manager.

What you'll do

• Provide remote technical support to customers during standby time.
• Work with the customer on-site to identify opportunities to improve their operations and eliminate pain points.
• Perform field service tasks, identify technical issues, and carry out analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products.
• Assist in preparing material lists for service activity and ensure materials, parts and equipment are available and of appropriate quality.
• Assist in preparing work packs, including risk assessments and method statements.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process failures, request proactive corrective actions, and recommend measures to avoid future issues.

What you'll need

• Highly skilled in electrical and/or mechanical engineering solutions.
• Ability to be flexible with schedules and self-sufficient in the field.
• Experience in field services.
• Willingness to work in demanding environments, in the UK and internationally, on and offshore.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in electrical engineering and/or a demonstrated professional track record.
• Ease communicating with a wide variety of people, both work colleagues and customer-side contacts.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel.
• Current UK driving licence.

Nice to have

• Marine and ports industry experience.
• ABB product experience.
