Field Service Engineer III

Overview

Provides installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and technical support for sophisticated analytical and microscopy instruments at customer sites.

What you'll do

• Install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and validate analytical and microscopy instruments.
• Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and performance verification.
• Diagnose hardware, software, vacuum, and system-level issues.
• Provide on-site and remote technical support and respond to customer requests.
• Train customers on instrument operation and maintenance.
• Prepare service reports, maintenance records, and installation documentation.
• Travel to customer sites for installations, maintenance, and emergency repairs.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree plus 3 years.
• Experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating sophisticated analytical instruments.
• Expertise with ultra-high vacuum systems, high-voltage electronics, and complex electromechanical systems.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation, schematics, and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with Windows, networking, and standard business software.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel 25–50%.
