Freelance Character (CT)

Overview

Freelance Character (CT) performer supporting the Disney Character Events department within Disney Live Entertainment, performing assigned Disney character roles for guests.

What you'll do

• Perform assigned character roles while maintaining established character integrity, physicality, mannerisms, and storytelling standards.
• Interact with Guests in a professional, engaging, and immersive manner consistent with Disney entertainment guidelines.
• Demonstrate strong improvisation skills while adapting to varying Guest interactions and operational environments.
• Maintain performance quality and consistency throughout multiple performances each day.
• Work effectively with fellow performers, technicians, costumers, and entertainment partners.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines, operational procedures, and performance standards.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding entertainment offerings, creative concepts, and production information.
• Support the Disney commitment to inclusion, teamwork, professionalism, and exceptional Guest service.

What you'll need

• Previous performance experience in portraying Disney characters at Disney parks, cruise ships, or equivalent locations.
• Ability to effectively portray a designated character through movement, physical acting, and non-verbal communication.
• Strong interpersonal and Guest interaction skills.
• Ability to remain in character throughout performances and Guest interactions.
• Ability to learn and retain choreography, blocking, performance notes, and character-specific requirements.
• Willingness to work in indoor and outdoor environments.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a highly team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and professionalism.
• High School degree or equivalent.

• Pay rate in New York: $25.10 per hour.
