Overview
Hardware Engineer supporting hardware design of optical transceivers and evaluation boards to meet product specifications.
What you'll do
- Support hardware design including schematic capture, circuit simulation, PCB design guidance, DFM review, and verification testing.
- Own PCBA design from concept through final design and EVT/DVT phases.
- Design PDN for high-speed DSP and RFICs and manage PI/SI requirements for high-speed interfaces.
- Maintain hardware design documentation and pass design checklists prior to tape out, including BOM specs.
- Lead design reviews and present design summaries, highlighting risks and mitigation plans.
- Troubleshoot and optimize sub-system/transceiver module board performance.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 4+ years, or PhD with 2+ years (Electrical Engineering or similar STEM).
- 3+ years in HW/circuit design, schematic design, and layout floor planning.
- Experience with Cadence tools for schematic and layout.
- High density and high-speed multiple-layer board design experience.
- PCB and product bring-up with laboratory optical and electrical measurement skills.
- Knowledge of micro-controller and protocols including SPI, I2C, MDIO, and CMIS management interface.
