Hardware Intern — Robotics & AI

Overview

Hardware Intern (Robotics & AI) at Instawork Robotics Labs in Bengaluru to help build and keep a proprietary multi-sensor wearable capture rig operating reliably in the field.

What you'll do

• Own uptime for the Instacore fleet.
• Build, assemble, test, and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ship fast hardware iterations for the 5-camera + IMU capture rig.
• Prototype, integrate, and stress-test improvements with the robotics team (cameras, IMUs, wiring, mounts, power).
• Set up hardware hubs across India and APAC for deployments.
• Debug faults through hands-on testing, then fix and document issues to improve reliability.
• Maintain lab tools, components, test setups, and build documentation.

What you'll need

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical, Robotics, or a related field.
• Experience from robotics/mechanical competitions such as Robocon, Formula Student/FSAE, BAJA, or e-Yantra.
• Hands-on experience with IoT systems, cameras, sensors, Raspberry Pi, 3D printing, and soldering.
• Working knowledge of motors, sensors, actuators, electronics, mechanical systems, and wiring.
• Willingness to travel PAN-India and across APAC for deployments.
• Demonstrated leadership by leading a team/project during Robocon, Formula Student, robotics competitions, or similar projects.
