Overview
As HR Business Partner, you will be the people partner to trading, quant research and technology leaders across the full employee lifecycle, building people infrastructure at a lean high-frequency trading firm.
What you'll do
- Partner with founders and desk/team leads on org design, team structure, succession and workforce planning.
- Translate business priorities, such as new desks, asset classes or the Singapore expansion, into people plans and hiring roadmaps.
- Use people data (attrition, engagement, compensation, hiring funnel) to surface risks early and recommend action.
- Partner with the recruitment team on lateral and campus hiring strategy, including campus selection, PPO conversion and FTE offer planning.
- Oversee intern and new-graduate experience from offer to joining, keeping pre-joining engagement strong.
- Shape employer branding events such as hackathons, quant competitions and campus talks.
- Run the performance review cycle end to end, including calibration for individual-contributor and lead roles.
- Support leadership on compensation benchmarking, bonus planning and retention plans.
- Own retention of critical talent through stay conversations, career pathing and early-warning signals.
- Protect the flat, high-trust, low-bureaucracy culture as the firm grows.
- Drive onboarding, mentorship and learning programmes that help new joiners become productive quickly.
- Handle employee relations matters with sound judgement, discretion and speed.
- Keep HR policies, confidentiality, IP and garden-leave obligations current and compliant with Indian labour law, and support Singapore requirements as that team grows.
- Manage exits thoughtfully, including exit insights and protection of intellectual property.
- Improve HR processes and tooling so they stay simple, accurate and scalable, and produce clear people dashboards and reports for leadership.
- Use AI tools extensively in day-to-day HR work, and automate repetitive HR workflows (onboarding, offer letters, leave and approvals, reminders, reporting), including AI-powered self-service such as an HR FAQ assistant.
- Set clear guidelines for responsible AI use in HR, covering data privacy, confidentiality and fairness in hiring decisions.
What you'll need

- 3 to 6 years of HR experience, including close partnership with tech, engineering or product teams.
- Experience at a fast-growing tech, fintech, startup or trading firm, ideally through a phase of rapid scaling.
