HR & People Operations Executive

Overview

Own and build the HR and people operations function for Amperos's India team. The role covers recruiting coordination, onboarding, employee engagement, policies, payroll administration, and statutory compliance.

What you'll do

• Coordinate sourcing, screening, interviews, offers, background checks, and hiring documentation.
• Own new-hire onboarding through the first 90 days, including access, equipment, training, and records.
• Run 30/60/90-day check-ins and employee engagement activities.
• Manage India holidays, leave, attendance, coverage, and related policies.
• Support managers with performance documentation, feedback, and corrective action.
• Administer monthly payroll, adjustments, offboarding, and full and final settlements.
• Maintain employee data and statutory compliance records.

What you'll need

• 3–5 years in HR operations, people operations, or HR generalist roles supporting an India-based team.
• Hands-on payroll and onboarding experience.
• Working knowledge of Indian labour law and statutory compliance, including EPF, ESI, tax withholding, and the Shops and Establishments Act.
• Experience building HR processes or policies from scratch.
• Clear English communication and discretion with sensitive conversations.
• Proficiency with HRIS and payroll platforms, Excel/Sheets, and documentation tools.
• Availability to overlap with US Eastern hours for part of the day.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting a remote or distributed team managed from the US.
• Healthcare, RCM, or BPO/KPO experience.
• Experience with Ashby, Checkr, or similar recruiting tools.
• Experience running engagement surveys or building onboarding programs.
