Java Software Engineer - Director- Software Engineering

Overview

Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale, distributed Java applications supporting post-trade asset servicing operations. The Director role combines hands-on engineering, technical ownership, stakeholder partnership, and engineering leadership.

What you'll do

• Own delivery of distributed Java applications from analysis through maintenance.
• Design scalable solutions for corporate actions, income processing, tax services, custody support, and regulatory reporting.
• Apply object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
• Partner with business users and technologists to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Drive cloud-migration initiatives and improve resilience, performance, controls, and operational efficiency.
• Lead delivery in a global Agile team and mentor engineers.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of professional Java application development experience.
• Experience owning large-scale distributed systems.
• Working knowledge of Java, Spring, Angular, relational databases, messaging technologies, and RESTful services.
• Understanding of object-oriented analysis, design, programming, and design patterns.
• Experience across the software-development lifecycle.
• Experience with iterative and Agile development practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with containerized applications and Kubernetes.
