Junior Backend Software Engineer (Python or PHP) - Chicago - ONSITE 2X Week- FreeWheel

Overview

Junior Backend Software Engineer on the App team of FreeWheel's Buyer Cloud, building APIs, support tools and ad serving systems for programmatic advertising operations. Onsite in Chicago, 2 days per week.

What you'll do

• Write and maintain efficient code for software components, following development best practices
• Support the design and development of new software applications aligned with business objectives
• Implement testing frameworks for software validation, including unit and integration tests
• Document the software development process, including design and deployment procedures
• Analyze software integration needs and plan system architecture to meet technical specifications
• Review current practices and technical literature to inform project solutions and apply engineering methodologies
• Work with Quality Assurance to ensure applications meet technical requirements and fit specifications
• Troubleshoot software issues and provide resolutions to enhance application performance and user satisfaction
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

What you'll need

• Bachelor's Degree (preferred; combinations of coursework and experience, or extensive related professional experience, may be considered)
• 2-5 years of relevant work experience
• Python or PHP backend development
• Collaboration and willingness to learn

Details

• Location: Chicago, IL, 350 N. Orleans St 1300N
• Onsite 2 times per week
• Must be able to work nights and weekends, with variable schedules as necessary
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance required
• Illinois pay range: $93,016.32 - $139,524.48 base pay
