Overview
Junior Engineer - NDT executes and inspects aerospace hardware within NDT operations (FCOE). The role focuses on radiographic testing, quality procedures, and continual improvement activities.
What you'll do
- Execute NDT operations in FCOE by inspecting aerospace hardware.
- Complete and/or apply computed radiography OJT requirements per NAS 410.
- Work with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to develop and implement AS 9100 procedures.
- Support cross-functional quality cells and daily analysis for yield improvement, EHS, and process projects.
- Perform continual improvement via audits, non-conformance assessments, and corrective actions using root cause analysis.
- Inspect production hardware, analyze customer complaints, and support stock verification when required.
- Provide technical analysis for inspection processes and support training for shop operations.
What you'll need
- Completed NAS 410 X-ray Level 2 certification or 1000 OJT hours in X-ray.
- Minimum 2+ years of aviation industry experience in aviation NDT (radiographic testing & quality inspection).
- Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Production Engineering.
- Working knowledge of AS 9100 and internal requirements.
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T and interpretation of drawings & specifications.
Nice to have
- Follow and drive safety culture within a team.
- Knowledge of aviation/aerospace NDT standards and ASTM standards.
- Working knowledge of NAS 410 qualification requirements.
- Knowledge of basic Lean and Six Sigma methodology.
