L2 Engineer(Network & Security Firewall)

Overview

L2 Engineer (Network & Security Firewall) to provide BAU second-line support for a large-scale BFSI network across multiple data centres on a 24x7 basis.

What you'll do

• Proactively monitor, identify, investigate, and resolve medium-complexity technical incidents and problems.
• Review client tickets and requests, apply technical expertise to resolve them, and update tickets with actions taken.
• Escalate tickets when needed and coordinate with other teams and clients to restore services to SLA timelines.
• Establish monitoring for client infrastructure and lead/manage initial client escalations for operational issues.
• Handle shift handover by highlighting key tickets and upcoming critical tasks for the next shift.
• Contribute to change management by logging change requests, executing approved maintenance activities, and auditing tickets for quality.
• Support automation and optimization by working with automation teams and identifying tasks suitable for automation via trend analysis.

What you'll need

• 5–7+ years of experience in network and security operations.
• Minimum 4 years managing Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls and core routing/switching.
• Hands-on experience managing enterprise firewalls across data centres, disaster recovery sites, and branches (Palo Alto, FortiGate, Checkpoint).
• Knowledge of VPN gateways and internal segmentation firewalls for secure access and traffic isolation.
• Ability to configure and support IPS/IDS, URL filtering, vulnerability protection, Wildfire, and DLP.
• Routing/switching fundamentals, especially BGP.
• Strong communication skills for client interactions and OEM TAC coordination.
