Lead Applications Engineer – WiFi

Overview

Lead Applications Engineer for Wi‑Fi in the NPI (New Product Introduction) Apps team at Silicon Labs.

What you'll do

• Lead Alpha and Beta customer engagements for Wi‑Fi products.
• Translate customer use cases into technical requirements for R&D and product teams.
• Validate end-to-end system use cases and assess gaps before GA.
• Own customer issue lifecycle: reproduce, debug, escalate, and close.
• Debug across application, networking, Wi‑Fi MAC/PHY, and system layers.
• Define debug infrastructure requirements and drive observability improvements with R&D.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of experience in embedded Wi‑Fi development, system validation, or applications engineering.
• Strong fundamentals in Wi‑Fi (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax) and exposure to Wi‑Fi 6/7.
• Experience with embedded systems, MCU, RTOS, and SDK development.
• Hands-on debugging skills across networking and system layers (OSI model).
• Experience with tools such as Wireshark and iperf, plus sniffers/logic analyzers.
• Understanding of RF fundamentals and coexistence.
• Ability to read and understand schematics and experience with hardware interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, SDIO).
