Lead D&T Engineer - Product Information Capabilities

Overview

Lead the design, development, support and upgrades of the STIBO solution for General Mills' Product Information Capabilities team, linking business objectives to core technology and coaching developers.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with internal teams and Solution Architects to produce software design and architecture.
• Partner with business analysts to collect requirements from the business, establish processes, and coordinate work with the technical development team.
• Advise project managers and analysts on development impacts and strategies.
• Expand the technical leadership in the General Mills Data Management organization, including Product MDM and Digital Product Publishing (PIM).
• Expand Stibo MDM and PIM solutions, including architectural design and integration with SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Build data architecture and models, and re-architect as the product matures.
• Build enterprise-level solutions connecting multiple feature sets and components, and identify integration points.
• Learn and work on POCs of trending technology with Application and Solution Architects; form talent teams to work on POCs.
• Be part of the third-party product and tools evaluation team.
• Work with Solution Managers and the leadership team to identify areas of automation.
• Advise on best data practices within applications and projects.
• Coach, mentor and onboard younger developers; lead knowledge-sharing initiatives such as reading groups and dev forums.
• Drive process improvements at project and team level.
• Collaborate with other teams to utilize new features of platform technologies.

What you'll need

• Full-time graduation from an accredited university with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (preferred major).
• Minimum 10+ years of related experience.
• Some experience leading or working with teams in an agile setting as an analyst.
• Experience working as a tech lead or architect on large technology implementation projects.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to lead the team to push the solution.
• Ability to research, plan, organize, lead and implement new processes or technology.
• Strong communication skills, with ability to present complex messages and trade-offs and tell a compelling story.
• Able to articulate business requirements and bridge the gap with development teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with change management.
• Experience working with vendors.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience configuring and enhancing Stibo STEP Trailblazer version 11 and above.
• Hands-on experience integrating the Stibo platform with upstream and downstream systems through IIEP, OIEP and Gateway endpoints (REST API).
• Experience with Java web services, including SOAP and RESTful, preferably with strong hands-on SQL.
• Strong experience writing JavaScript for STIBO STEP workflow and Web UI customizations.
• Working experience in Oracle database.
• Experience with Product Information Management systems (PIM/MDM).
• Experience developing XSLT stylesheets.
• Experience leading or working with teams in an agile setting as an analyst.
• Experience working as a Stibo developer/analyst and technology lead on large technology implementation projects.
• Experience working directly with business clients to design IT solutions, articulating pros and cons of technologies, platforms and architectural options, and documenting use cases and recommendations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to lead the team to push the solution.
• Ability to research, plan, organize, lead and implement new processes or technology.
• Strong communication skills and ability to tell a compelling story.
• Ability to articulate business requirements and bridge the gap with development teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with change management.
• Agile/digital experience: expert task and sprint estimation; create and manage product feature roadmap aligned with technology direction; help drive the agile journey in terms of team velocity, self-organization and effective retrospectives.
• Experience with cloud technologies (GCP / Azure).
• Comfortable in ambiguity and drives productive discourse.
• Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Data quality and data governance experience.
