Lead Engineer - Core Commerce Platform

Overview

Lead Engineer for the Core Commerce Platform, responsible for technical leadership of omni-channel Order Management (OMS) capabilities.

What you'll do

• Lead the design, development, and evolution of Order Management capabilities (order orchestration through post-purchase).
• Own OMS technical architecture, engineering standards, and key technology decisions.
• Design and build scalable, resilient API-first, event-driven OMS services for omnichannel use cases.
• Integrate OMS with commerce platforms and enterprise systems (ERP, WMS, payments, logistics, customer service).
• Ensure inventory visibility, order processing, fulfilment, and returns workflows are accurate, reliable, and scalable.
• Champion engineering excellence (code quality, automated testing, secure development, observability, continuous improvement).

What you'll need

• 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and building Order Management capabilities using Java/Spring Boot or equivalent.
• 3+ years leading a technical capability, project, or engineering team.
• Hands-on Java and Spring Boot experience with modern microservices architectures.
• Deep understanding of the end-to-end order lifecycle including fulfilment, returns, exchanges, and post-purchase processes.
• Experience integrating OMS platforms with commerce, WMS, ERP, POS, payment, 3PL, carrier, and customer service systems.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka (or similar) for event-driven architectures.
