Lead Electrical Design Engineer

Overview

Lead electrical design and development for low- and medium-voltage variable speed/frequency drives, covering sizing, simulation, testing, validation, and certification.

What you'll do

• Lead LV/MV drive engineering for AC/DC systems and power electronics.
• Perform drive and filter sizing, loss-budget calculations, protection-circuit design, arc-flash calculations, and root-cause analysis.
• Design systems and equipment using calculations, modeling, and simulations.
• Prepare and validate configurations, schematics, bills of materials, specifications, and related design documents.
• Verify prototype hardware performance under specified operating conditions.
• Support manufacturing with component installation, harness and cable routing, and clearance and creepage requirements.
• Define functional tests and conduct testing to applicable standards, including project factory acceptance tests.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of electrical design experience for industrial drives or control panels.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• In-depth knowledge of motors and drive control systems.
• Experience with AutoCAD, EPLAN, ETAP, or MATLAB is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and guide a team.
