Overview
Lead Engineer to design, implement, and optimize control & protection and substation automation engineering for EHV/HV substations.
What you'll do
- Design and prepare engineering drawings (SLD/KLD/PSLD/CRP) for up to 400/765kV substations using E-CAD tools.
- Design and review substation automation systems based on IEC 61850 and interconnections.
- Review BOQ and network drawings for PLCC/FOTE engineering and coordinate interfaces between CRP and telecom equipment.
- Review equipment drawings for AIS/GIS major substation equipment and associated conditional monitoring devices.
- Perform CT/VT calculations including CT and VT sizing.
- Design/control power cable engineering and LV/LT auxiliary systems, interfacing with SAS/SCADA.
- Perform/review protection relay application and setting calculations with coordination including tripping analysis.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s (or) master’s degree in electrical engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in substation protection relay systems within EHV electrical substations or oil & gas or power transmission industries.
- Experience in EPC environments with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in secondary engineering (CRP/SAS, aux systems, telecom, interface) up to 765kV/400kV/220kV and HVDC substations.
- Relay testing, equipment testing, control/protection scheme testing, and SAS commissioning experience (min 1 year) is given additional weightage.
- Ability to work with different make IEDs, numerical protection relays, and BCUs.
- Fluent in English (additional language is a plus).
