Lead Engineer - Controls Engineering

Overview

Lead Engineer in Control & Protection for EHV/HV substation protection relay systems. You will lead secondary engineering activities and coordinate with global engineering groups to deliver designs and solutions.

What you'll do

• Design and prepare engineering drawings (SLD/KLD/PSLD/CRP) for up to 400/765kV substations using specified E-CAD tools.
• Design and review substation automation systems based on IEC 61850 and related interconnections.
• Review BOQ and network drawings for PLCC/FOTE engineering and manage interfaces between CRP and Telecom equipment.
• Review equipment drawings for major AIS/GIS substation equipment and related conditional monitoring devices.
• Perform CT/VT calculations and create protection relay application/setting calculations with tripping analysis.
• Design and review control/power cable engineering and LV/LT auxiliary systems with SAS/SCADA interfaces.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of experience in substation protection relay systems for EHV electrical substations, oil & gas, or power transmission industries.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Experience in EPC environments with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in secondary engineering (CRP/SAS, aux systems, telecom, interface) up to 765kV/400kV/220kV and HVDC substations.
• Knowledge/experience in relay testing, equipment testing, control/protection scheme testing, and SAS commissioning (min 1 year adds weightage).
• Ability to work with different make IEDs, numerical protection relays, and BCUs.
