Lead Engineer, Instrumentation & Control

Overview

Lead Instrumentation & Control engineering design and detailed engineering for industrial, manufacturing, and utilities projects, including work in the Oil & Gas, FMCG, and advanced technology industries. Work with licensed engineers and experienced designers, collaborating with other engineering disciplines and sometimes across multiple offices.

What you'll do

• Execute projects with the highest level of quality, cost effectiveness, and a focus on safety.
• Perform instrumentation and control system engineering design for industrial, manufacturing, and utilities projects.
• Prepare datasheets, select and size instruments and valves, review vendor documents, and check and approve design deliverables.
• Prepare hook-up and installation drawings.
• Prepare cause-and-effect matrices.
• Prepare wiring and loop sheets, instrument indexes, instrument lists, I/O lists, and JB and panel location layouts.
• Prepare cable schedules and cable tray sizing and loading schedules.
• Prepare cable routing, cable tray and conduit layouts, grounding layouts, and support drawings.
• Prepare BOMs and bulk MTOs.
• Apply a basic understanding of control systems, review P&IDs, and apply knowledge of hazardous areas.
• Work with licensed engineers and other experienced designers to develop instrument and control drawings and deliverables.
• Work with other engineering disciplines, sometimes across multiple offices.
• Perform instrumentation design on multi-discipline engineering projects.
• Meet client deadlines.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of experience in engineering in I&C design and detailed engineering.
• Background in engineering consultancy or EPC.
• Experience in AutoCAD with detailed understanding of drafting and design standards.
• Basic understanding of instrumentation design concepts and deliverables.
• Conversant with international codes and standards.
• Proven ability to meet client deadlines.

Nice to have

• Good experience with Navisworks is preferable.
• Experience in SPI/InTools is desirable.
