Overview
Principal Onshore Pipeline Engineer responsible for working within the pipeline design team on onshore pipeline projects and ensuring onshore pipeline design integrity while managing project execution.
What you'll do
- Maintain technical competence in the discipline according to standards and pursue continuous professional development.
- Prepare and check FEED and detailed design pipeline scopes and related deliverables.
- Prepare and check pipeline mechanical calculations for pipeline systems.
- Prepare and check pipeline specialty item specifications, data sheets, material requisitions and TBEs for items including scraper launchers and receivers, barred tees, line pipe, scraper signallers, induction bends, full bore ball valves, through-conduit gate and check valves, isolating joints, pipeline flanges, fittings, chemical injection quills and corrosion coupons.
- Prepare and check pipeline construction specifications, external coating and FJC specifications, and scopes of work for construction.
- Prepare and check pipeline drawings including alignment sheets, route maps, crossing drawings, approach drawings, isometrics and field area layouts.
- Prepare and check pipeline survey scopes of work.
- Prepare and check pipeline schematic diagrams.
- Prepare and check the pipeline crossing matrix.
- Prepare and check pipeline material take-offs and material specifications.
- Prepare and check pipeline stress analyses and reports using CAESAR II and AUTO Pipe.
- Manage vendor documents for pipeline specialty items.
- Prepare and review pipeline-related technical reports, including route selection and valve station location selection reports.
- Manage the execution of onshore pipeline projects while maintaining design integrity.
What you'll need
- 10+ years' experience in feasibility, conceptual, basic engineering, FEED, detailed design and EPC / EPCM projects.
- Experience in pipeline Basis of Design.
- Experience with Plan & Profile / pipeline alignment sheets and pipeline route maps.
- Experience with pipeline data sheets.
- Experience with pipeline material grade and wall thickness calculations.
- Experience preparing specifications of pipeline materials.
- Experience with valve datasheets.
- Experience with corrosion control plans.
- Experience with stress analysis reports.
- Experience with road crossing analysis reports.
- Experience with area classification studies.
- Experience with sectionalizing valve station layouts.
- Knowledge of pipeline codes and standards.
- Knowledge of EPC projects.
- Knowledge of technical evaluation of various vendors related to pipeline ancillaries and other equipment.
- Ability to prepare engineering deliverables according to company technical competency standards.
- Knowledge of MS Office.
- Knowledge of CAESAR II and/or Autopipe.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of MathCAD.
- Familiarity with the design and construction of metallic and non-metallic pipeline designs and their respective international codes.
- Familiarity with scraper stations, BVS and associated piping design.
