Job description
Overview
Lead the technical direction of the Passkeys team building and maintaining Bitwarden’s WebAuthn and FIDO2 credential provider implementation across browser, desktop, and mobile clients.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain WebAuthn and FIDO2 implementations in Rust.
- Integrate passkeys with credential provider surfaces across browser, desktop, and mobile.
- Develop the shared Rust SDK, including language bindings and FFI.
- Implement standards for credential portability and secure provider import and export.
- Build interoperability tests across relying parties, browsers, and platforms.
- Maintain the team’s technical roadmap and support other engineers.
- Represent the team in technical discussions and conduct thorough code reviews.
What you'll need
- 8+ years of experience as a lead or team lead.
- Experience with complex user interaction flows in Angular and native Windows, macOS, and Linux applications.
- Production Rust experience, including libraries, language bindings, and FFI.
- Experience implementing standards or protocols from specifications.
- Working knowledge of applied cryptography, including public-key cryptography, signatures, and key handling.
- Experience working on a Platform team and using AI tooling in development and testing.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
