Lead Engineer, Sr

Overview

Lead development, integration, optimization, and support of audio codec and firmware solutions for embedded DSP platforms across Qualcomm products. The role covers feature development, system debugging, customer issue resolution, and performance optimization for voice and music use cases.

What you'll do

• Design and optimize audio codec and firmware solutions for embedded DSP platforms.
• Own audio feature development and support across products and platforms.
• Debug system issues involving DSP firmware, frameworks, codecs, Bluetooth audio, and customer deployments.
• Optimize embedded software for processing capacity, memory, latency, and power.
• Lead customer issue investigations and resolutions.
• Contribute to audio architecture reviews, design, roadmaps, and validation plans.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of experience in embedded software, DSP, or audio systems development.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Expert C/C++ programming skills in embedded environments.
• Strong experience with audio codecs and audio firmware or DSP frameworks.
• Strong understanding of Bluetooth Classic Audio and LE Audio.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M, HiFi DSP, or equivalent architectures.
• Knowledge of RTOS concepts, multicore systems, debugging, and performance optimization.

Nice to have

• Experience with ANC and audio enhancement algorithms.
• Exposure to ML-based audio processing, speech enhancement, or noise suppression.
• Experience with I2S, PCM, PDM, or SPDIF interfaces.
• Knowledge of MATLAB, Python, and audio analysis tools.
